Business and Resource Gap Analysis for the Fort Drum Regional Liaison Organization, 2006 How can a region leverage the expansion of a local military base for its economic development? This question was asked by the Fort Drum Regional Liaison Organization (FDRLO) in upstate New York. The FDRLO represents three New York Counties, Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence that are collectively known as the North Country. The group, working together with the Development Authority of the North Country and Empire State Development, commissioned a "Business and Resource Gap Analysis." The Gap Analysis relied on LEAP to assess strength of the region's labor force, infrastructure, utilities, cost structure and other local assets. The information and LEAP's business attraction analysis tools were used to help identify and ranked promising target sectors. |
